Moon’s lament

Purpled orange glow fades slow

Staining the sky bloody streaks

Like a saber slashing through

On a field of raging battle and woe

As vision escapes the eye,

Dim and in need of candles bright

Sparkly-eyed stars resplendent in their finest

Peeping through the curtains, come nigh

Eager to continue their merry-making.

The jolly moon and her cousins

Her silvery fingers caress and tease

the brooding dark night to lover’s deep aching

As Nature’s play took to embrace,

The stage, she closed her lotus eyes

Enjoying his feathery kisses

Their fingers entwined like latticed lace

Living in the moment, every transient second

Living as their time together drew nigh.

Eager to love and hold,

Till reality knocked and beckoned.
